The Discipline of Transparency: The Story Behind Nuvo Studio 369

The Origin

Nuvo Studio 369 did not begin in a high-street design boardroom. It started inside our workshop, sparked by an ongoing frustration with how modern luxury furniture is produced, imported, and priced.

For years, statement pieces shaped from pure cast acrylic belonged almost exclusively to elite international galleries and design houses overseas. Bringing them home meant paying inflated four-figure price tags—costs driven up by middle-tier dealers, trans-continental freight, and multi-city glass showroom leases rather than the intrinsic value of the material itself.

We knew how cast acrylic behaved under precision tools. We understood the chemical and structural properties needed to prevent yellowing, deflect weight, and polish edges until they refract ambient light like cut crystal. We set out with a straightforward objective: bring uncompromising, museum-grade transparent furniture to life right here in India, engineered entirely in-house.

The Medium: Unforgiving by Design

Working with acrylic leaves nowhere to hide.

Wood can conceal uneven joints behind stains; metal can hide structural welds beneath heavy powder coats. 100% virgin-grade cast acrylic, however, demands total transparency in both form and process. If an edge polish is off by half a millimeter, the light exposes it. If a joint is rushed, the seam clouds.

Every piece that leaves our floor is treated as functional architecture:

Structural Purity: We select calibrated, heavy-gauge cast acrylic sheets engineered for load distribution and long-term UV resistance.
Crafted Contours: Each cut undergoes diamond buffing, edge bevelling, and flame finishing to eliminate sharp boundaries and produce glass-like clarity.
Tactile Equilibrium: We ground the cold, clean architecture of transparent acrylic by contrasting it with human warmth—curated textured bouclé, heavy velvets, dense ergonomic foams, and precision PVD-coated metal accents.

Why We Don't Have a Showroom

Traditional luxury business models rely on grand storefronts, passing massive rent and standing inventory costs directly onto the client's invoice.

We chose an asset-light, made-to-order model instead.

By eliminating the showroom, every rupee you spend goes directly toward thicker materials, precision tooling, and meticulous bench craftsmanship. We do not maintain dusty warehouses of mass-produced stock. When an order is placed, our craftsmen start shaping, polishing, and tailoring that specific piece specifically for your space.
